These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of pet sitting and dog walking services ("Services") by Zinim Pet Care ("we", "us", "our") to you, the client ("you", "your").
By booking or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. SERVICES
1.1 We provide the following Services as agreed at the time of booking:
(a) Dog walking (individual walks only).
Household dogs may be walked together up to the following limits:
– up to 3 small dogs, or
– up to 2 medium dogs, or
– 1 large dog
(b) Pet sitting in your home (daytime or evening)
(c) Overnight Sitting (7pm–7am) — this is a sleep‑over service; we remain on your property overnight and sleep during this period while maintaining responsibility for your pet(s).
(d) Drop‑in visits
(e) Any other services agreed in writing between the parties.
1.2 All Services are subject to availability and must be booked in advance in accordance with clause 3.
1.3 We reserve the right to decline or discontinue Services at our discretion, including where we reasonably consider a pet poses a risk to the safety of our staff, other animals, or the public.
1.4 All new clients must complete a free Meet & Greet before the first booking. This appointment is provided at no charge and allows us to assess your pet’s temperament, confirm safe handling and access, review routines, and introduce your pet(s) to the sitter. Bookings cannot be confirmed until the Meet & Greet has taken place and we have approved the pet(s) for services.
2. YOUR OBLIGATIONS
2.1 You must provide accurate and complete information about your pet(s) at the time of booking, including:
(a) breed, age, weight, and temperament
(b) any known medical conditions, allergies, or behavioural issues
(c) current vaccination status
(d) emergency veterinary contact details
2.2 You must ensure your pet(s) are:
(a) up to date with all required vaccinations (proof may be requested)
(b) treated for fleas, ticks, and worms prior to each service
(c) wearing a collar with current identification tags at all times during dog walking services
2.3 You must provide all equipment reasonably required for the provision of Services, including leads, harnesses, food, medication, and bedding where applicable.
2.4 You must notify us immediately of any change in your pet's health, behaviour, or vaccination status.
2.5 You must provide an emergency contact (other than your veterinarian) who is authorised to make decisions regarding your pet(s) and property access in the event that we experience an accident, medical emergency, or other circumstance that prevents us from attending or completing the service. This contact must be available during booked service times and able to collect or care for your pet(s) if required.
2.6 You agree that a free Meet & Greet is required before any first‑time service. You must ensure your pet(s) are present and safely accessible for temperament assessment and introduction to the sitter.
3. BOOKINGS
3.1 Bookings may be made via phone, email, or website enquiry.
3.2 A booking is confirmed only upon our written confirmation and receipt of any deposit required under clause 5.
3.3 We reserve the right to refuse a booking at our discretion.
3.4 For all new clients, a free Meet & Greet is mandatory before any booking can be confirmed. We reserve the right to decline services if the pet(s) cannot be safely handled or if access requirements cannot be met.
4. CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
4.1 You may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing at least 24 hours written notice prior to the scheduled service.
4.2 Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking fee.
4.3 No refund will be provided for cancellations made on the day of the scheduled service, except where we are unable to provide the service.
4.4 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, illness, or emergency. In such cases, we will provide as much notice as practicable and offer a full refund or rescheduled appointment.
5. FEES AND PAYMENT
5.1 Our fees for Services are as set out in our current schedule of fees, available on request or via our website, and are subject to change with 14 days written notice.
5.2 Payment is due on the day of service by bank transfer or cash.
5.3 Full payment is required before the booking date to secure and confirm your booking. Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received in full. Unpaid bookings may be cancelled without notice.
5.4 You are responsible for any additional costs reasonably incurred in the provision of Services, including emergency veterinary fees and transportation of your pet(see clause 7).
6. LIABILITY AND LIMITATION
6.1 We will take all reasonable care of your pet(s) while providing Services. However, we are not liable for any loss, injury, illness, or death of your pet(s) arising from:
(a) pre‑existing medical conditions or undisclosed health issues
(b) your pet's own behaviour or actions
(c) circumstances beyond our reasonable control
(d) the actions of third parties
6.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services is limited to the total fees paid by you for the relevant service.
6.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
7. VETERINARY CARE
7.1 In the event of a medical emergency involving your pet(s), we will:

7.2 You authorise us to consent to emergency veterinary treatment on your behalf where you cannot be reached in a timely manner.
7.3 All veterinary costs and any transportation costs incurred under this clause are your responsibility and must be reimbursed to us within 7 days of invoice.
8. INSURANCE
8.1 We hold public liability insurance. Details are available on request.
8.2 We strongly recommend that you maintain your own pet insurance to cover veterinary costs and any loss or damage caused by your pet(s).
9. KEYS AND ACCESS
9.1 A lockbox is the preferred method for key access. Owners must provide the lockbox, ensure it is installed securely, and supply the access code before the first visit.
9.2 If a lockbox is not available, we can collect and return keys at the Meet & Greet or at another mutually agreed time before the booking begins.
9.3 Keys will be held securely and returned to you upon request or at the conclusion of our engagement.
9.4 We are not responsible for issues arising from owner‑chosen access methods, including keys left in unsecured locations (e.g., under mats, in plant pots, or unlocked areas).
9.5 If we experience an accident, medical emergency, or other event that prevents us from returning your key promptly, your nominated emergency contact may be authorised to retrieve the key from us, emergency services, or the relevant holding authority.
10. PRIVACY
10.1 We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy, available on request.
10.2 Your personal information is used solely for the purpose of providing Services and will not be disclosed to third parties except as required by law or with your consent.
11. PHOTOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA
11.1 We may take photos or videos of your pet(s) during the provision of Services.
